It's in the Cards: One Potter's Love of Oracle Cards

Transitioning this blog section from one about my work to one that dives into the more personal aspects of my life has been on my mind for awhile. Many of you may not know this, but I have a background in copywriting. I worked for a small local marketing & PR agency, and I spent a lot of time writing blogs for our clients. I wrote about traveling on private jets, building docks on your lakefront home, reasons to purchase a CNC machine, and so much more.

This job gave me the freedom to research and soak up knowledge in subjects I hadn't previously spent much time exploring. This deeply satisfied my 4/6 mani-gen side until it didn't anymore. I hold immense gratitude for that time in my life, because like everything else leading to this moment, it helped me find my deeper purpose and begin to live my life in a completely authentic, unedited way.

From here on out, I want to share and write about things that inspire me or have left an impression on me in past years. Instead of diving into miscellaneous topics and writing for others, I want to dive into topics that call to me and set my soul aflame. So, if you've found yourself here, I hope some of the topics I cover inspire you as well.

Turning to Oracle Cards

One thing that's been absolutely pivotal in my spiritual practice is oracle cards. They've made me laugh and cry and on more than one occasion I've had to pick my jaw up off the floor after pulling an incredibly meaningful and timely card. So, I thought I'd pull a card for this blog post and see what spirit has to share with us all.

Dramatic pause while I pull a card from my 'The Starseed Oracle' deck by Rebecca Campbell & Danielle Noel

Here's the card I pulled:

"You're not for everyone. Embrace your weirdness. Face your true north."

This isn't the first time I've pulled this card. In fact, I pulled this same card when I was seeking out guidance about transitioning this blog from an SEO tool to a more personal creative outlet. See? This is what I mean when I say I've had to pick my jaw up off the floor on more than one occasion!

For me, this message is clear: BE YOU. Unapologetically. Authentically. Fiercely.

You're not always going to vibe with everyone, and some people aren't going to vibe with you even on your best days. This is just the way it is (I'm looking at you, shadow work), so it's better to be exactly who you are instead of wearing a mask and doing the things you think others will find acceptable. You are so undeniably perfect just the way you are, so own it. That's what this card means to me. And when you're being your authentic, lovable self? You'll align with all those good things that serve your highest good. You'll find your worth, your passion, your voice, and so, so much more.

For the fun of it, I'm going to pull another card. That just feels right to me. Let's see what else we need to know in this moment.

Second dramatic pause of the blog post

"Surrender to the sweetness. Venus energy. Pleasure. Joy. Make love to life."

YES! Of course this card would come up just after I explained how alignment can lead to so many wonderful things.

This card is also a reminder, for me, to be silly and embrace my inner child. Be curious. Fall in love with living. We chose to be here and have this otherworldly experience, so let's enjoy it! There are obviously some sexual undertones to this card, and maybe we'll skip over that, but I think the message is still pretty clear: Love life and it'll love you back even harder.

I also want to mention that I just picked up the guidebook to peek at the larger write-up and meaning behind the card, something I don't normally do, but felt compelled towards, and felt my mouth fall open yet again. Ishtar is mentioned, and that's a whole different story (and possible future blog article), but I can tell you that she's a spirit guide I've been working with. Whenever things are working towards alignment, she pops up and keeps me moving forward. I hold so much gratitude for her and her guidance, and I find it incredibly meaningful that she's mentioned in this card.

I have a few other blog topics percolating in my mind (and in the notes section of my phone if I'm being honest), but if there's a topic you'd love me to dive into, please feel welcome to comment below or send me a message. I'd love to connect and expand my community. One love.

In love and light,

Lindsey xo
